About me
Beka is the State Government Documents Librarian at the South Carolina State Library. She received her B.S. in Biology and Spanish with a minor in Latin American and Latinx Studies from Furman University in 2022. In 2024, she received her Master of Library and Information Science with a specialized study in Special Libraries/Collections & Archives from the University of South Carolina. A native of Greenwood, South Carolina, Beka enjoys reading (especially historical fiction and sci-fi), singing in her church’s choir, genealogy research, and collecting historic postcards. She has also mapped out two historic cemeteries (one in Greenwood County and one in New Mexico) using spreadsheets and enjoys researching the lives of the people who are buried there.
